Appraisal – Introduction

Overview

This section gives an introduction about the Appraisal module which is part of the performance evaluation suite in Athri. Appraisal is done by the Manager with an option to review the feedback by a Reviewing Manager.

In order to cater to the wide ranging enterprise requirements, an appraisal can be configured to one of the following workflow.

Scheme I (Manager only evaluation): This mode is generally for the front line staff. The manager provides the feedback about the employee. Employee does not participate in the appraisal process.

Scheme II (Employee fills the details and Manager evaluates): In this mode, the employee first fills in the details of the activities performed during the appraisal window. Manager provides feedback based on employee’s inputs. Employee signs off on the appraisal feedback to complete the evaluation cycle.

Scheme III (Employee self rating and Manager rating): In this mode, the employee first fills in the details of the activities performed during the appraisal window and does a self rating. Manager provides feedback based on employee’s inputs and rating. Employee signs off on the appraisal feedback to complete the evaluation cycle.

Scheme IV (Employee self rating, Manager rating and Reviewer rating): Similar to scheme III, with an additional step of reviewer reviewing the ratings of the employee and manager and moderates it. Employee signs off on the appraisal feedback to complete the evaluation cycle.

Another critical factor in the appraisal is the Evaluation form. A well designed evaluation form can help the organization capture the employee performance feedback more accurately.

Athri provides an option to the HR Manager to generate job position specific evaluation form. Based on the activities defined for a job position, Athri automatically generates the evaluation form.

Subsequent sections describes the various appraisal schemes, form generation, appraisal cycle and other related topics.
